I see your book and raise you the script:

SURGEON: Quickly now. Hold him down.

ESCA steps up. He takes hold of MARCUS’s wrists.

SURGEON (CONT’D)(impatient): Get your weight on him, man!

ESCA leans down, pinning MARCUS to the table with the weight of his chest. Suddenly, their eyes are very close.

SURGEON (CONT’D): Harder!

ESCA presses down. The SURGEON prepares to make the first cut.

SURGEON (CONT’D): Deep breath in. When I say “now”, let it out.

MARCUS nods. His eyes meet ESCA’s.

SURGEON (O.S.) (CONT’D): Now.

MARCUS lets out his breath and the knife goes in. His arms spasm involuntarily. ESCA grips him tight. Pain screams up his body. He blacks out.

Obviously, in this version it’s prelude to porn.

nautilusl2: I have been reliably informed that these look nothing like Esca and Marcus, but the amounts of fucks I give is zero. It was fun damnit. I like the movie. I’m really pissed off though because I wanted to buy the ebook for my Nook and B&N doesn’t have it. You can buy it for Kindle though through Amazon. Poo. Woo hoo, they’re awesome! The Eagle Reverse Bang could use that kind of talent :)

motetus: “I would have driven your war-chariot gladly,” Esca says softly, and there is sadness mixed with the heat in his eyes, “borne your shield, even were you only a hunter’s son and I the son of Cunoval.” Before Marcus can think of anything to say to that, Esca leans forward and kisses him.- Until All the Songs Are Sung by Carmarthen Sticking a few of my favourite pieces up here, so apologies to everyone who has seen them before. (this one… despite there being all sorts of flaws everywhere, is the one I’m probably most proud of, because it was something I thought I’d never get to this kind of detail - initially it was going to be just a very simple line and colour piece) <3
